Our Current Programs
Just Harvest approaches food sovereignty holistically. It is not enough to teach a person to grow their own food, it is imperative that we restore the social connections, value systems and holistic wellness that serve as the foundation of flourishing communities.

Food Distribution
Just Harvest Distributes fresh, chemical free whole food directly into the community to meet the immediate needs of households experience food insecurity

Cultural & Historical Restoration
Restoring traditional foodways means restoring the culture and values that underpin them. Through storytelling, fellowship, and exploring the world through the humanities, we strive to reconnect people to a different understanding of
the world.

Essex Community Garden
Community Gardens produce more than just food! They are a place to gather, learn and connect with nature. Just Harvest hosts a community garden in downtown Tappahannock in Essex County.

Education
Just Harvest hosts an ongoing slate of community programming that includes educational workshops on:
-
Regenerative gardening
-
Creative & small space growing
-
Improving the nutrition profile of pantry staples
-
Traditional Storytelling and Crafting

Paatch-ah Gardens
Paatch-ah is the Tidewater Algonquian word for "give away". Just Harvest gifts the time, resources and labor to establish gardens for community focused organizations and groups.

Menokin's Heritage Garden
